Practical Information

 

Banking
Most banks are open Monday – Friday, from 08.30 to 15.00. “Montepio Geral” will have a desk at the Congress Venue.

Business Center
A service for photocopies and faxes and other assistance will be available at the Venue. Location: 

Catering 
Cafeteria, bar and restaurant services are available at the Venue. These services are not included in the registration fee.

Certificate of Attendance 
A Certificate of Attendance is given to all attending delegates together with the congress documentation.

Cloakroom 
A cloakroom is located in the registration area. Please make sure that no personal belongings are left there after closing each day.

Coffee Breaks 
Coffee / tea is included in the registration fee and will be served daily at the Foyer outside “Salão Nobre” 

Morning - from 10.30 to 11.30
Afternoon - from 16.00 to 17.00

Congress official language 
English. No simultaneous translation will be provided.

Credit cards 
International credit cards are accepted in ATMs, hotels, restaurants and most shops, as well as car rental agencies. The most commonly accepted credit cards are VISA, Euro card, MasterCard and American Express. Diners Club is not accepted.

Cultural 
A list of the main Lisbon museums and other relevant information will also be provided by the Secretariat (Mundiconvenius).
Currency 
The official currency in Portugal is the Euro - €.

Electricity 
In Portugal, electricity is supplied at 220V/50Hz AC and power sockets are of the 2 pin round type. Power adapters are usually not available for purchase in Portugal. 


Entitlements 
The registration fee for Delegates include: admission to all congress sessions, admission to the welcome cocktail, cultural evening, closing dinner (upon specific registration), congress documents, coffee-breaks and Lisbon bus pass.

The registration fee for Accompanying persons’ fees include: admission to the welcome cocktail, cultural evening, closing dinner (upon specific registration), Lisbon bus pass and city tour. Does not include the Congress documentation.

Exhibition 

The IEA World Congress includes an exhibition area that will be open during the functioning hours of the event. It will be located at the first floor of the Venue at “Salão Nobre” and will include 

Books and library – Oxford / Elsevier and Palgrave 
Instituto Vinho do Porto - Porto Wine selling point 
Caixa Geral de Depósitos 

Insurance/Liability
Participation in this Congress implies that persons/participants agree that the organizers do not assume any liability whatsoever. Upon registration, the participant accepts this stipulation.

Message Boards / Meeting Point 
Personal messages can be placed on the message board located next to the Exhibitors area (see previous information) 

Mobile Phone Policy 
Please remember to switch off your mobile phone in all meeting rooms and in the exhibition area.

Name badges 
Your personal badge is your entrance ticket to all sessions, to the exhibition area and to all social events. 
Please remember to wear your badge whenever at the Venue.

Post office
Services are available at the Hotel or at post offices. The working hours are 09.00 - 18.00. 


Press Room 
Is located at the ground floor as indicated.

Public transportation
Buses, trams and underground are available and operate all days from 6 or 7 a.m. until midnight or 1 a.m. (maps and information available at the Secretariat). 

Lisbon Bus Pass is included in the registration fee and will be given together with the Congress documentation.

Rent-a-Car – HERTZ 
Hertz is the official rent-a-car-agency of the Congress. Renting at very special conditions is available to all congress participants. Information available at the secretariat area.

Slide Desk 
Appropriate area for viewing and checking the projection material will be available at the Secretariat area.
Speakers are kindly requested to hand over their projection material at the Slide Desk, at least, one hour before the intervention.

Restaurants 
Information and reservation service will be provided by the Secretariat (Mundiconvenius) at appropriate counter.
Shop opening hours
09.00 to 19.00. Most of the shops are open on Saturday mornings. Several shopping centers are open from 10.00 to midnight, seven days a week. 

Time zone 
Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). 

Tipping
This is customary in restaurants and taxis. Tipping up to 10% of the bill is acceptable.

Tourist Information 
You will find tourist information in your Congress bag. For further information please contact either your hotel or the travelling agency.

Transport to the Venue 
A shuttle bus service from the Congress Hotels to the Venue will be provided only for the participants staying at the Congress Hotels.
Transportation to the social events will also be provided . Details on site.
