Visit the Jerónimos Monastery, the Discoveries Monument, the Tower of Belém, St. George´s Castle and walk through Alfama (traditional old Lisbon).

Price per person: € 40 including the admission fee to St. George’s Castle.
Drive along the river side to admire the Black Horse Square and visit Lisbon Cathedral, St. Anthony’s Church and St. Georges Castle. Free time. Walk through Alfama, the very heart of Lisbon and the most picturesque quarter. 

Proceed to visit the former Expo 98 area. 

Continue to the monumental area to visit the Tower of Belém, the Discoveries Monument and the Jerónimos Monastery (guided tour of the church).

Arrabida, Azeitão, Palmela

Cross the bridge over the River Tagus and admire the superb view of the city. 
In Azeitão visit the well-known wine cellars of the region with wine tasting. Free time.
Then drive through the Arrábida Mountain range, a unique nature reserve. 
Stop at Palmela Castle and visit the ceramics factory in the village. 
Return to Lisbon.

A world heritage site, Sintra is home to historic palaces, castles and a magnificent mountain range. In the town centre stands the National Palace, built in the fourteenth century and notable for its Gothic influence. 

Atop the Sintra mountains stand a thirteenth-century Moorish Castle and Pena Palace, considered as one of the Seven Wonders of Portugal. Spend some free time at the historical centre to taste the traditional cheese pastries. Continue to the Moorish Castle. Return through the National Park of Sintra-Cascais and stop at Roca Cape, the most western point of continental Europe. 

Admire the panoramic view of Cascais bay, an old fishing village that was chosen as residence by exiled European Royalty in the 40’s.

Évora - World Heritage Town - and Arraiolos

Depart southwards across the world’s largest cork region. Stop at Arraiolos, to visit the carpet shops. Continue to Evora, classified as “Museum Town and World Heritage” by UNESCO in 1986. 

During medieval times Évora, together with Lisbon, was ruled by the courts of the Portuguese Kings from 1165 and 1559. Free time for lunch and shopping.

Visit the Roman-Gothic Cathedral dating from 1186; the Church of St. Francis built during the 15th century (with the singular Chapel of Bones), and the ruins of the Roman Temple of Diana. Return to Lisbon.

Leave Lisbon in the direction of Obidos to visit this charming medieval village. Visit the fishing village of Nazare. 

Free time. Arrive in Alcobaça to visit the 12th century monastery. Proceed to Fátima, site renowned for the Holy Mary apparitions.

Queluz and Mafra (full day)

Depart for Queluz to visit the Royal Palace, a former king’s residence. 
Continue towards Sintra. Free time for lunch and shopping in Sintra . 
Then proceed to Mafra to visit the convent. Return to Lisbon.

Price per person: € 70 including lunch box and entrance fees to the Queluz Royal Palace and the Mafra Convent.
Depart northwards in the direction of Fatima, the most important religious centre in Portugal. Visit the Basilica and the Chapel of Apparitions that marks the spot where, three shepherd children had visions of Our Lady of Fatima in 1917. Free time.

Continue to Batalha to visit the monastery, a masterpiece of Portuguese gothic architecture. Proceed to Obidos, one of the most charming Portuguese villages, completely enclosed within the ramparts of a medieval castle. Return to Lisbon.
