THE “EUTEACH” TRAINING SESSION IS FOR YOU

Two pre-conference training sessions will take place on Wednesday morning May 11th from 8:30 to 12:00 at Centro Cultural de Belém.
These training sessions are opened to all professional involved in adolescent health care and adolescent prevention/public health activities.

They are set up and being taught by the EUTEACH (European Training in Effective Adolescent Care and Health) Group.
This is a group of European specialist who have developed a training curriculum in adolescent medicine and health, available free on the Web (www.euteach.com). After a short presentation of the site´s main characteristics and how to use it, the participants will be able to take part in either of two sessions, one focusing on chronic conditions and the other on the development of a preventive intervention for young people. An emphasis is put on training methodologies and approaches.


Training Objectives:

SESSION ON CHRONICAL HEALTH/MEDICAL CONDITIONS

1. Recognize the interrelated impacts of chronic and adolescent bio-psychosocial development

2. Demonstrate proficiency in developing and implementing a management plan with an adolescent affected by a chronic condition, with the parents, and with professional networks

SESSION ON PREVENTIVE INTERVENTIONS

1. Outline key principles of health prevention / promotion which can be effectively conducted in the school and the community

2. Prioritise, design, plan and evaluate an intervention on a regional level
