Portugal, Best Destination of the World!

Portugal was elected the “World’s Leading Destination 2017” at the World Travel Awards 2017. Other 16 countries were nominated, among them were Greece, Maldives, Spain, Brazil and Indonesia.

Portugal also won in other categories. We highlight some:

• Lisbon won the “World’s Leading City Break Destination”
• Madeira Island received the prize for “World’s Leading Island Destination”
• Turismo de Portugal won the award for “World’s Leading Tourist Board”
• The Parques de Sintra-Monte da Lua won in the category of “World’s Leading Conservation Company”
• The prize for “World’s Leading Tourism Authority Website” was awarded to the official information portal about the country, visitportugal.com
