Overall conditions, reservation,
payment and cancellation policies
• The tours have been specially designed for the 21st Regional Congress
of the ISBT and will be made in private buses with
air conditioning and an English speaking guide.
• Pick up and drop off at the Lisbon Congress Center.
• Full payment is required at the time of reservation.
• The tours require a minimum of 30 participants, exception made for the
Sintra tour: minimum 15 participants.
If minimum numbers are not reached the tour will be cancelled and
participants can either choose another tour to attend
or receive full payment reimbursement. Reimbursements however will be
paid within a month after the end of the Congress.
• Changing the chosen tour after May 19, 2011 will not be possible.
• Refund will not be possible in case of failure to arrive on time.
• Prices include taxes and services as mentioned.
• Accompanying persons must confirm their included ‘Sintra Tour’ on
Monday. Please register on line via the registration website.
• Pre-booked tickets will be included in the participant’s personal
envelope, which will be handed over upon registration.
Additional tickets may be purchased on site at the tour desk, however
subject to availability at the time.
• Cancellations received up to May 20, 2011 - full refund. Cancellations
received after this date - will not be refunded.
• All refunds will be made within 1 month after the end of the Congress.
Bank charges may be deducted.

Sintra, Cabo da Roca, Cascais, Estoril (full day)

Monday, June 20, 2011 from 09.00 - 17.00 hours
A world heritage site, Sintra is home to historic palaces,
castles and a magnificent mountain range. In the town centre stands the
National Palace, built in the fourteenth century and
notable for its Gothic influence.
At the top of the Sintra Mountains stands a thirteenth-century
Moorish Castle and the Pena Palace, considered
as one of the Seven Wonders of Portugal. Spend some free time at the
historical centre to taste the traditional cheese pastries.
Continue to the Moorish Castle. Return through the
National Park of Sintra-Cascais and stop at Roca Cape, the most western
point of continental Europe. Admire the panoramic view of Cascais bay,
an old fishing village that was chosen as residence by exiled European
Royalty in the 40’s.
For participants in general and in case this tour is not full
with accompanying persons, the cost is € 70 including
lunch box and entrance fees to the monuments signed in bold.

Lisbon
City Tour (full day)
Monday, June 20, 2011 from 10.00 – 17.00 hours
Drive along the river side to admire the
Black Horse Square and visit the Lisbon Cathedral, the
St. Anthony’s Church and the St. Georges Castle.
Free time.
Walk through Alfama, the very heart of Lisbon
and the most picturesque quarter. Proceed to visit the former
Expo 98 area. Continue to the monumental area
to visit the Tower of Belem, the Discoveries Monument and the
Jeronimos Monastery (guided tour of the
church).
Cost per person € 65 includes lunch box and entrance fees to the
monuments signed in bold. Minimum participants: 30

Óbidos,
Nazaré, Alcobaça and Fátima (full day)
Tuesday,
June 21, 2011 from 09.00 to 18.00 hours
Leave Lisbon towards Óbidos to visit this charming
medieval village. Free time to walk around, to take a coffee and make
some shopping. Proceed to the fishing village of Nazaré
to admire the gorgeous view from the top of the mountain. Free time for
lunch. Take the opportunity to buy typical wooden tissues.
After lunch proceed to Alcobaça to visit the 12th
century monastery. The tour ends with a short visit to Fátima,
site renowned for the Holy Mary apparitions.
Cost per person € 70, includes lunch box and entrance fee to the
Monastery of Alcobaça. Minimum participants: 30

Lisbon City Tour (Half day - 4 hours)
Tuesday, June 21, 2011 from 09.00 – 13.00 hours
Visit the Jerónimos Monastery (The Church), the Discoveries Monument,
the Tower of Belém and the St. George’s Castle. Walk through Alfama
(traditional old Lisbon).
Cost per person € 40 includes
entrance fee to the St. Georges Castle
Minimum participants: 30
