Lisbon Airport has two terminals.

Terminal 1 is for International Departures and International and Domestic Arrivals.
Terminal 2 is for Domestic Departures only.

Getting to city centre from the airport by bus

Listed below are the bus route numbers with the respective names of their “end of the line” terminals. The airport stop is located mid-journey for these routes.

BUS N.º 705 – Estação do Oriente / Aeroporto / Areeiro
BUS N.º 22 – Portela / Aeroporto / Marquês de Pombal
BUS N.º 44 – Moscavide / Aeroporto / Cais do Sodré
BUS N.º 745 – Prior Velho / Aeroporto / Cais do Sodré
BUS N.º 83 – Portela / Aeroporto / Amoreiras

A one way BUS ticket costs around € 1.45 and can be purchased from the driver as you board.

BUS Nº 91 (Aerobus) – makes the run between Lisbon airport and the city centre. Service begins at 07h00 and ends at 23h00. Buses pass every 20 minutes. A ticket for all-day travel costs around € 3.50.


Getting to the city centre from the airport by taxi

There are two taxi stands within the perimeter of the airport, one at the arrivals point and the other at the departures.

The fare on the taxi meter should read € 2.00 (daytime pick-up). Outside the city limits, city fares are charged per kilometer (km=0,42). € 1.60 is charged for the transportation of luggage or animals. Before taking a taxi, inquire about the fare*. You can get more info and purchase a Taxi Voucher at the Tourism Information Counter in the airport’s Arrivals Hall.

* An additional 20% is charged for services on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays and for nighttime service from 21h00 to 06h00.



BY TRAIN

Lisbon’s main departure point for international destinations and central/northern Portugal is Santa Apolonia Station located on Avenida Infante Dom Henrique, eastern district of Alfama, on the Tagus River banks (Can be reached by bus line 746). All the trains that depart from Santa Apolonia Station stop at Estaçao Oriente in Expo. High-speed Alfa trains depart for Oporto every day until 20h55. The Sud-Expresso to Paris departs daily at 18h00, while the Lusitania train to Madrid departs at 22h00 every day.



BY CAR

By road, Lisbon is connected to many highways.

From the north, A1 highway connects Lisbon to Oporto and A3 connects Oporto to Valença (border with Spain, Galicia). 

From the south, A2 highway connects Lisbon to the Algarve region, near Faro. 

From the east, A2 plus A6 highways connects Lisbon to the frontier with Spain, Extremadura, near the Spanish city of Badajoz.

From the east, A25/A23 plus A1 highways connects Lisbon to the frontier with Spain, near the Spanish city of Salamanca.
