WELCOME LETTER

Dear Colleague,

It is our great pleasure to announce that the next IMPEL Plenary meeting will take place in Lisbon – Portugal – at the Real Palacio Hotel (where you will be staying), from the 28th to the 30th November 2007.

This meeting will be organized under the auspices of Inspectorate General for the Environment and Territorial Planning and during the Portuguese Presidency of the European Commission.

Lisbon is a very nice city, plenty of charm and full of attractions and the Congress Organizing Committee is working towards a very successful meeting both in the quality of the scientific program and the diversity of the social happenings. 

We therefore strongly recommend that you do not miss this event and suggest that you make definitive plans for your participation at your earliest convenience. 

The agenda as well as the registration form and some practical information are hereby enclosed. 
Please fill in the registration form and return by e-mail to Monica Ribeiro (monica_ribeiro@mundiconvenius.pt) until November 16th 2007. 

The Presidency will cover accommodation costs for one participant per delegation (one person per EU 27). Please indicate in the Registration Form whether you have been nominated by your IMPEL-coordinator for payment of the accommodation by the Presidency. 

All the other meeting documents will be distributed at a later date via Commission's CIRCA website and will be provided by the Presidency on a CD at the Plenary.

The Presidency will also circulate all meeting documents, except the reports, by email. 
Monica Ribeiro will also be responsible for collecting the power point presentations that will have to be received until November 26th 2007, clearly stating the speakers’ name and the agenda item.

A memorable highlight of the meeting will be the Gala Dinner at the “Palacio S. Vicente” where you will have an excellent occasion to enjoy a very relaxed program and environment.

We have also prepared a tour of the cosmopolitan and colorful city of Lisbon with its historic quarters.

We look forward to receiving confirmation of your attendance and, also, the pleasure of meeting you personally in Lisbon.
