I have the pleasure of announcing the Second International Porto Congress on Multiple Sclerosis, that will take place in Porto on January 25th and 26th, 2013.

Porto is located in the north of Portugal and is one of Europe’s oldest cities. In 1996 the city was elected World Heritage by Unesco. With its magnificent monuments and masterpieces of contemporary architecture, historical sites, romantic views and cruises up the Douro River, rich gastronomy, scents and flavours of the Port Wine cellars and its warm hospitality, the city is like its wine; Unique, Exquisite and Authentic.

This is why, I am proud to invite you to join us in Porto to participate in the Congress, which we are certain will be as successful as the first one which took place in January 2011. 

The scientific program has been carefully prepared to discuss and update our knowledge in such newsbreaking and hot topics of MS, as neuroimmunological aspects, biomarkers, disease heterogeneity, cognitive dysfunction, individualized therapy, rehabilitation. A panel of renowned speakers from different MS centres in different countries, will, no doubt, lead to an excellent exchange of experiences. 
There will be courses focusing on MS in daily clinical practice and there will be oral and poster presentations. 

A conference on the Artistic Heritage of Porto focusing on the multiple historic facets of our city will also be held.
