Lisbon Zoo is committed to minimizing the environmental impact of the 38th Annual Symposium of the EAAM



In the history of EAAM meetings this is the first time that the concept of environmental friendly conference will be used. Specific agreements with the hotel, catering and a voluntary neutral carbon tax payment are in our goals. We will also use as much as possible the 3 R’s rules.


Conference registration online (no paper)

Proceedings will be provided at the conference via USB flash drive (Pen Drive). A copy will be available on the conference website prior to the meeting.

Most of the conference materials were chosen to be made reusable. The conference bag will be made on tissue. The plastic name badges will be collected as you leave the conference.

The conference hotel has good environmental practises and locally-grown food will be provided.

All the selected hotels are within walking distance of each other and the zoo. 

We provide information about public transport system from the airport and to downtown. 

A voluntary payment for carbon neutral fee has been estimated of 6€/participant The corresponding amount of money will be donate to Sado’s dolphins Action Plan – an in-situ conservation project in collaboration with Lisbon Zoo.
