About ENTOG
ENTOG stands for European Network of Trainees in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and is a Europe wide organisation. At this moment our organization counts 25 member-organizations.
Amongst our aims and objectives are the promotion of trainee networks in all European countries. We promote exchange and interaction between the trainees of the various member countries, hoping to improve harmonization and training standards as well as mobility across borders.
What may therefore be very very interesting to know for those of you less familiar with ENTOG and it’s activities, is that around 50 trainees from all over Europe will spend a week in Portuguese hospitals prior to the congress. They take part in our exchange program which is organised in a different country every year. It is one of the core activities for ENTOG.
This meeting is routinely followed by an annual meeting, aimed to cover more general training issues like ‘research in training’ and ‘gender in obs and gynae’ to name a few recent examples. This year, the meeting will be incorporated in the European congress as ‘the ENTOG session’! We hope this will promote interaction and discussion between trainee and consultant level, improve trainee participation at the congress and makes ENTOG even more visible.
ENTOG strongly depends on the help of the local trainees in the organisation of both the exchange and the meeting. PONTOG, the Portuguese trainees network has done a marvellous job and I’m happy to take the opportunity here to give them many thanks!
We would like to invite you to have a look at our website at www.entog.org to find out more about us.
Yours, the ENTOG executive
