Pre-Conference Doctoral Workshop

The Doctoral Workshop is to be held on December 8th, the day prior to the regular IAM 2005 conference.

The purpose of the Doctoral Workshop is to discuss research goals, methods, and results at an early enough stage of the dissertation to provide useful guidance in the Initiation of a research agenda. Students will have the opportunity to share their research initiatives and to receive counsel on the research process from established researchers. 

The Doctoral Workshop will also provide an opportunity for participants to interact with established researchers and develop networking opportunities with other doctoral students from different parts of the world.

 

Program

The Pre-Conference Doctoral Workshop will consist of two discussion panels and to research discussion sessions:


09h00 | 10h30 - Discussion Panel
“Publishing in Management: when, how and where?”

10h30 | 11h00 - Coffee Break

11h00 | 12h30 - Research discussions, grouping doctoral students by interest areas, with one expert researcher per group.

12h30 | 14h00 - Lunch

14h00 | 15h30 - Discussion Panel
“Career Perspectives for IberoAmerican researchers: advantages and disadvantages of IberoAmerican background in US dominated academia”. 

15h30 | 16h00 - Coffee Break

16h00 | 18h00 - Presentation of research papers by students, grouped by area.

 

General Information

The Pre-Conference Doctoral Workshop is open, free of charge, to doctoral students, who are registered at the conference and would have a paper to present and discuss during the afternoon.
